Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Leslie Andrade's abstract oil paintings draw inspiration from the philosophical concept of the astral plane—a non-physical dimension where time and space are perceived differently. Influenced by the vibrant colors characteristic of Ecuadorian folk art, her work reflects a personal exploration between the tangible and the metaphysical.

In her art, the veil between conscious reality and the subconscious realm is delicately lifted, revealing a dynamic interplay of perception and truth. Andrade's paintings act as portals into the boundless depths of the inner self, where experiences transcend the constraints of the physical plane.

To capture the essence of these distorted realities, she draws from her memories of the non-physical realm. Documenting objects, characters, emotions, and colors recalled from her dreams, she offers glimpses into the enigmatic landscapes of the unconscious. Through a spiritual visual language characterized by mystical beings, intricate patterns, and suspended symbols, her paintings invite viewers to immerse themselves in alternate realities where hidden desires are revealed. Through texture and layering, Andrade creates a space for contemplation, inviting reflection on the nature of perception and the elusive boundaries between certainty and illusion.

Based in Madrid, Spain, Leslie Andrade holds a BA from Sweet Briar College, VA (2014), and an MBA from IE Business School, Madrid (2018).
